Water Bath Canning 

Monday, June 13, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

Learn how to preserve summer produce safely during this hands-on workshop. This workshop is designed for those who wish to gain knowledge on how to safely can high acid and acidified foods such as fruit, jam, jellies, and pickles. Participants will learn the basic knowledge of boiling water canning. Registration fee $5.

Pressure Canning 

Monday, June 27, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

We will learn about microbes that cause problems in home canning, processing food in a pressure canner, testing for sealed jars and proper storage of home-canned goods. Participants will gain knowledge on how to safely can low acid foods such as vegetables and meat in their home kitchens. The class will feature a hands-on pressure canning lesson. The registration fee is $5.

Jams and Jellies 

Monday, July 11, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

This workshop is designed for those who wish to gain knowledge on how to make various sweet spreads. Participants will gain knowledge on how to make sweet spreads such as jams and jellies in their home kitchen. This class will feature a hands-on lesson on making sweet spreads. The registration fee is $5. 

Fermentation 

Monday July 18, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

This workshop is designed for anyone interested in learning more about safely fermenting at home. This class will cover the basics of fermenting, safely fermenting and how to prepare and ferment sauerkraut and yogurt. The registration fee is $5.

Drying 

Monday August 1, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

This workshop will provide knowledge on how to dehydrate food in the home kitchen. Participants will learn basic drying principles, foods to dehydrate and the different methods of drying; all with a hands-on approach. The registration fee is $5.
