4-H Summer Fling Camps & Classes

Cabarrus County 4-H Summer Fling

Summer Fling will look different this year due to regulations around COVID-19. Please check back here often as we figure out how to offer these programs using distance learning techniques. We will not have face-to-face camps this year and virtual additions are being added regularly to the current schedule. Each event below will have individual registration. Please click event for details.

Enrollment in 4-H

Please enroll at  Select your specific club if you are registering for a club. If no club, select member at-large. Registration for events also takes place in 4Honline. Once member is approved, they can register for events.

16 10 a.m. Turtle Trash Collectors Learn about sea turtles from our friends at UNCW MarineQuest. Free 3rd-5th
20-23 varies NC 4-H Virtual Congress Annual leadership event hosted by the State 4-H Council. Registration $25 13-18
20 & 24 3 p.m. Fairy Garden Fun Design your own fairy garden. Free 8-13
24 10 – 2 p.m. Videography:  Editing & Production Youth will design, plan, edit and produce videos Free 8-13
20-31 9-10 a.m. DIY T-Shirt Quilt Class Youth will complete their own T-Shirt Quilt.  Free 10+
28 9-10 & 2-3 Millionaire’s Club Increase your financial literacy and make a plan to manage your money.  $25 8-13

7 10 – 2 p.m. Photography: Prep for the Fair Tips & Tricks to take the best photos for entry to Cabarrus County Fair Free 8-13
10 – 12 10 a.m & 2 p.m. (Only 10 a.m on the 12th) Theater Camp Fun with monologues, puppets, and improvisational theater Free 8-13
17 10-3 p.m. Fun with Accessories Make your own jewelry and accessories.  $25 8-13

Ongoing Programs

State wide 4-H Virtual Programming

Check out these excellent opportunities for learning all summer long. Topics include:  Civic Engagement, Family & Consumer Science, Plant Geeks Unite, STEM, Personal Development, Animal Science, Environmental Science, Healthy Living. Registration is open until August 15, so logon and explore at your own pace. All modules have hands-on activities to do at home, virtual components, and personal interaction with others. Some have face-to-face visits, live tours and interviews, while others have connections to worldwide science projects and challenges for youth to earn badges, stickers and other prizes. Find your perfect fit for the whole family. No 4-H Enrollment required.

Space is limited for some thematic areas. REGISTRATION CLOSES ON AUGUST 15, ACCESS TO VIRTUAL CONTENT IS AVAILABLE UNTIL AUGUST 31. Get your ticket.

NC 4-H Ambassadors

This teen centered leadership program focuses on learning the basic of youth development in order to be able to share more about the impacts of 4-H and develop each of our teens personally. Topics range from leadership, communication, service, civic engagement and personal development. All summer long. Keep checking for the updated list

SPIN Clubs

These Special Interest (SPIN) clubs will meet regularly throughout the summer to share experiences about a specific topic.

Dancing through Cultures (Via Zoom) – Youth ages 12+ will explore different dances from local cultures and abroad. Join us to meet new people, learn  something new, be goofy, get some exercise, and appreciate all the cultures that make up our great community. Meetings take place Tuesdays from 2-3 p.m. July 7 – Aug 4. Registration is free and required.
