Cobra Teaching Assistants

Reserve a visit to your classroom from the Cobra Teaching Assistants at Cabarrus Tech Early College.  They have been trained in the following curriculum and would love to come and do a fun 30-45 min activity with elementary youth. Jayla Scott is their club instructor. Visits may be requested directly through her.

Butterfly Life Cycle
Students will create a life cycle model decorating habitats for the four stages of metamorphosis of a butterfly. Life cycle model includes types of pasta. All materials included.
1st Grade
Busy Little Bees
Students will learn about bee habitats and the importance of pollinators using three interactive activities. Students will model pollination, play an interactive quiz game and demonstrate an ecosystem model with yarn.
2nd Grade
Eggcellent Exploration
Students will learn about the life cycle of a chicken while exploring the parts of an egg. Youth will make an interactive diagram for their science notebooks.
3rd Grade
Germination Necklaces
Students will explore the beginnings of life of a plant, learn the parts of a seed and see germination happen right in their own hands. Youth will receive basil seedlings with planting instructions.
4th Grade

Of course any and all of them can be made available for other grade levels, but the teen teaching assistants many need some assistance with modifying for other ages.
Teachers must retain care/custody/control of classroom. Any assistance to the CTA members would be wonderful, including feedback, guidance, and suggestions along the way. Thanks for your support!
We are always looking for new lessons to teach the CTA members. If you have a specific topic request or a classroom assistance request, please let me
