Basic School-Age Care Training (BSAC)
Basic School Age Care (BSAC) training is a foundational course for individuals new to working in school-age care settings. It covers essential topics like health, safety, and child development, and promotes quality care practices. The training includes interactive activities to reinforce key concepts and help participants create supportive learning environments for children. Content Areas: The training covers:
- Health, Safety, and Nutrition: Focuses on practices that ensure a safe and healthy environment for children.
- Child/Youth Development: Provides an understanding of developmental stages and how to support children's growth.
- Environmental Design: Covers creating spaces that are stimulating and appropriate for school-age children.
- Developmentally Appropriate Activities: Explores activities that are engaging and beneficial for different age groups.
- Guiding Child Behavior: Addresses positive behavior management strategies.
- Quality School Age Care: Introduces elements that contribute to a high-quality program.
