"Eating the Med Way": A 6-Session Journey to Better Health

This class will meet each Monday, September 14 - October 19, from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Ready to take control of your health and transform your relationship with food? "Eating the Med Way" is a six-session class series designed to introduce you to the delicious and health-promoting Mediterranean-style eating pattern. This program is for anyone looking to eat healthier, prevent chronic disease, and feel their best.

Over six weeks, we will explore the steps to Eating the Med Way. Each session will include engaging discussions, practical tips, and a featured food demonstration or cooking instruction, so you'll get hands-on experience with new ingredients and techniques.

Session Topics:

  • Session 1: Introduction to the Med Way: We'll start with the basics, exploring the history and science behind the Mediterranean diet and setting the stage for our journey.
  • Session 2: Change Your Protein: Learn to shift your protein choices to a more heart-healthy approach, incorporating more lean meats, seafood, beans, and legumes.
  • Session 3: Swap Your Fats & Snack on Nuts & Seeds: Discover the benefits of healthy fats like olive oil and learn how to incorporate nuts and seeds for satisfying, nutritious snacks.
  • Session 4: Eat More Fruits and Vegetables: This session focuses on making fruits and vegetables the star of every meal, with creative ideas and preparation tips.
  • Session 5: Make Your Grains Whole: We'll explore the world of whole grains and learn how to swap out refined grains for more fiber-rich, nutrient-dense options.
  • Session 6: Rethink Your Sweets: Learn how to satisfy your sweet tooth in a healthier way by using natural sugars and enjoying desserts in moderation.
