We grow Cabarrus in so many ways! The Agribusiness & Environmental School Immersion Days are back again – with a few tweaks and changes.

April 4, 5 & 6 at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center

6th grade students will rotate through six stations:  Animal Science, Horticulture, Food & Nutrition, Environmental Science, Careers & Lunch.

Daily Schedule

Round One

9:45- 10:05 – Rotation 1 (Horticulture, Food & Nutrition & Animals)

10:10 – 10:30 – Rotation 2 (Horticulture, Food & Nutrition & Animals)

10:35 – 10:55 – Rotation 3 (Horticulture, Food & Nutrition & Animals)

Round Two

11:00 – 11:30 – Rotation 4 (Lunch, Careers, Environmental)

11:35 – 12:05 – Rotation 5 (Lunch, Careers, Environmental)

12:10 – 12:40 – Rotation 6 (Lunch, Careers, Environmental)

12:40 – 1:00 – load bus & depart

Presenters

Round One Presenters

Animal, Horticulture and Food & Nutrition presenters will have 20 min sessions generally encouraged to have 15 presentation with 5 mins of questions. 

  • Animal Presenters will be located in Event Center B. Please be ready to go by 9:30. You may arrive as early as 6:30 a.m. to set up. Please make arrangements with Mackenzie_hall@ncsu.edu for setup. Items (not animals) may be dropped off in Gold Hall on 4/3 in preparation. Sorry, there is no access to Event Center on 4/3 due to another event.
  • Horticulture Presenters will be located in the Arena Atrium. Please be ready to go by 9:30 a.m. You may arrive as early as 6:30 a.m. to set up. Please make arrangements with Jessica_Cline@ncsu.edu for setup. Items may be dropped off in Gold Hall on 4/3 in preparation. Sorry, there is no access to Arena on 4/3 due to another event.
  • Family & Consumer Science Presenters will be located in Gold Hall 1. Please be ready to go by 9:30 a.m. You may arrive as early as 6:30 a.m. to set up. Please make arrangements with Pamela_outen@ncsu.edu for setup. Items may be brought to Gold Hall for setup on 4/3 8:30 a – 4:30p.

Round Two Presenters

Environmental Science and Career presenters will have 30 min sessions generally encouraged to have 20 min presentations with 10 mins of questions. 

  • Environmental Science will be located in Gold Hall 2. Please be ready to go by 10:45. You may arrive as early as 6:30 a.m. to set up. Please make arrangements with tracy_lecompte@ncsu.edu for setup. Items may be dropped off in Gold Hall on 4/3 in preparation anytime 8:30 a- 4:30 p
  • Career Presenters will be located in the Event Center A. Please be ready to go by 10:45 a.m. You may arrive as early as 6:30 a.m. to set up. Entrance will be on the back (West Side) of the event center. Please make arrangements with tracy_lecompte@ncsu.edu for setup. Items may be dropped off in Gold Hall on 4/3 in preparation. Sorry, there is no access to Event Center on 4/3 due to another event.
  • Lunch will also be offered during this rotation. Schools will be bringing their own lunches. Tables will be available in Gold Hall 1 with additional tables and space outside and in the lobby.

What to Expect

There will be 800-900 6th grade students in attendance each day.

Your station will be one of 22 other stations in your category. No other station in your category will see the same students you see.

Students will only visit one station in each category (They will see one animal, one horticulture, one food & Nutrition, one Environmental Science and one career). It is okay for presenters to have the same topic in each category since there will be no overlap in categories.

Your station will see 12-20 youth per rotation.

FAQ’s

Will there be food? – Yes, we will have snacks, coffee and water available – bring your own cup! We will have a grab N go style lunch available from 11:15 a.m. – 1:15 p.m

Where should I park? – Animal and Career Presenters please enter in the back entrance behind the Arena to access the back (West) entrance of the Events Center. You may park vehicles and trailers in the back parking lot. Other presenters should park in the
